The Labyrinth

Home to a new urban decay, social anarchy, wanton lawlessnes and crime. It is a massive, doghnut shaped industrial arcologythat was originally built to house the Project Daedalus and the many scientific firms that piggybacked on Daedalus’ technological developments and the science community at large. When the Project died prematurely and everybody pulled out the site lay fallow.

Now it is slowly being “colonized” by criminals and street people looking for a free place to live. Slowly becoming a city within a city much has been sectioned off by those who are turning old production facilities and labs into hastily converted living spaces and sites of possible criminal strongholds. There is no electricity or running water.

The inside of this harsh and forbidding environment is like a dark reflection of Silver City Arcology. People are cramming in like sardines amid unspeakable squalor. Gunshots, shootouts, drive-bys, superbrawls and all types of violence are becoming daily occurances through out the subdistrict. Despite constant killings and other deaths from malnutrition, accidents and fires, the population always creeps upwards as more and more of the city’s disenfranchised find themselves coming here in need of a free place to stay. The interior of the arcology is honeycomed with a mind-numbing array of homemade apartments and hallways, making any sort of wide-scale navigation of the place difficult at best and impossible at worst. Indeed there have been people who have entered the Labyrinth and have lost themselves so hopelessly in its contorted innards that they have been unable to find their way out for days or even weeks.
